The philosophy of the Leica Hardy School of Dance is to provide people - young and adult, recreational student or aspiring young dancer - with the highest quality of dance instruction in an environment that is enjoyable, accessible and values the individual. These standards are met by adhering to a policy of small class sizes, where respect, highest goals and individual attention are a part of every class.

The Leica Hardy School of Dance is located in historic downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The school provides outstanding dance education in a friendly and constructive environment for ages three to adult. Offering creative movement, ballet, jazz and modern dance instruction, class sizes are limited to assure that students receive individualized care and attention. All classes are affordably priced. The carefully developed curriculum ensures successful, healthy technical and artistic progression at every level. Ballet students participate in the curriculum and examinations offered by the Society of Russian Ballet. In all classes students are encouraged to attain the highest degree of success that they can reach and to become self-motivated, confident individuals.

Founder Leica Hardy’s enjoyment of dance and movement has been a lifetime activity with over 30 years of teaching experience. She is respected nationally as a master teacher and dance educator. Locally, Leica is best known as the choreographer and director of The Nutcracker, presented annually since 1991 by Symphony Nova Scotia.
